PENALTY FOR FRAUDULENT TRAIN TRAVEL.

Priyanga. M

Train travel has always made us feel delightful. It is one of the easily accessible and affordable modes of transport in India. Do you know that our country has the 4th largest railway network in the world and carries over 23 million passengers every day? With that being the fact, the most important question, as to whether all the passengers travel with a proper ticket arises. If not so, the concerned person is to be punished. The Act that deals with this issue is the Railways Act, 1989. Predominantly, under this Act, a fine is imposed on the person for non-compliance with the rules of the statute and besides this, the person can also be imprisoned for the same.
