"For every lock there is someone out there trying to pick in or break in."

- David Brenstein

Cyber crimes are increasing along with the spread of coronavirus. Weekly reports show that there is an increase in cyber crimes every day. The ethical hackers and other well versed techies who utilize their knowledge in perpetuating cyber crime seem to be using this global pandemic to threaten people and take away their personal data and other ancillary valuables.

The two major reasons for cyber crimes are:

Ransomware attacks and phishing scams are being made all over the world. Cybercriminals make fraudulent attempts to obtain the personal data such as passwords, account details, credit and debit card details of IT workers and young students. Cybercriminals impersonate as a trustworthy entity and send spam mails to the people based on their professions. There are tons of mail sent in the name of reputed hospitals or government agencies in order to extract a person’ s private information by making them download attachments which have been sent. Scams via telegram are increasing nowadays. People are requested to click on the links making them believe that their money in the UPI wallet gets doubled.
